Step by step guide

The following step-by-step guide gives you an overview of both applying and enrolling.

Please note:

STEP 1

Make sure you meet the course entry requirements

To do a course you must meet the entry requirements of that course, or be accepted on the basis of a special admission. Entry requirements for a course form part of the course's listing in the Courses & careers section.

STEP 2

Contact your preferred campus or campuses

  • Check that the campus still proposes to run the course.
  • Check that this is the course that best meets your needs.
  • Ask about different modes of attendance, and decide which suits you best.
  • Enquire about any special pre-enrolment procedures – to be considered for some courses you may have to attend an information session, sit for a test, attend an interview or audition, or submit a portfolio.

No application closing date under the course name?

STEP 3

Apply, if necessary

For some courses, you must apply before you can enrol. Application courses have an application closing date under their course name. For these courses you need to complete a TAFE NSW Course Application Form. You will need to address the selection criteria when completing the form.

Deliver or mail your application to the campus of your first preference by the application closing date.

Applications for Semester One 2009

Open — Monday, 11 August

Close — Friday, 31 October

You will only need to fill out the TAFE NSW Course Application Form if you want to do a course that has the application closing date under the course name.

If you want to study an application course please read this section carefully.

To accept your offer for a course which required an application, go to Step 4.

STEP 4

Enrol

How and when you enrol depends on your chosen course and campus.

  • If your course requires an application (see Step 3) and your application is successful, you will receive details of how and when to accept your offer and enrol. For most application courses you will be able to enrol online.
  • If your course does not require an application you will need contact the campus offering your course to find out when you should enrol. When you enrol you will fill out relevant forms and pay the TAFE NSW fee (if applicable).
