Before you enrol
- Make sure you call your campus as soon as possible to:
- confirm that it is offering the course
- find out when you need to enrol
- find out what you need to bring with you when you enrol
- get the latest information – some campuses have local pre-enrolment selection procedures such as compulsory tests, auditions and information sessions.
- Check to see if your course requires an application. Application courses have an application closing date indicated under the course name in the course listings.
- Make
sure you meet the entry requirements of the course, as outlined in the course's details. See Entry
requirements and equivalences for a more detailed explanation of terms.
- If you are not an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident, make sure you are aware of your enrolment conditions and fees payable (depending on your visa sub-class) and that you complete the appropriate documentation.
- Consider if your previous learning or life experience might help you to do the course (see Recognition).
- To accept your offer for a course which required an
application, go to
e-Services and log on using
the username and password provided in your offer letter.
How to enrol
Contact your campus to confirm enrolment times and procedures. For most courses you will be asked to turn up during enrolment time, fill out an enrolment form and pay the TAFE NSW fee.
You may pay by EFTPOS, Visa card, Mastercard, cheque or money order; check with your campus for any local arrangements. Please note that cash is not accepted for safety reasons.
If you are enrolling in a course which required an application or if you are a re-enrolling student, you may have the option to accept your offer and/or pay the TAFE NSW fee (and other enrolment related charges) via the internet.
If you want to gain credit for previous education and/or life experience, you may need to show the enrolment officer original records.
TAFEcard is part of enrolment
Your enrolment is not complete unless you have a TAFEcard. To get one, you'll need to have your photo taken when you first enrol at TAFE NSW. If you are enrolling on behalf of someone else, find out from the enrolling officer how the student can arrange for a deferred issue of their TAFEcard.
Your TAFEcard will either be mailed to you or be available to be picked up from your campus.
If you already have a TAFEcard from a previous course at any campus or college, you do not need a new TAFEcard.
Enrolment by proxy
If you can't attend the enrolment day (because of exceptional
circumstances, such as, but not limited to, illness, hospitalisation,
work commitments, family responsibilities, interstate and
overseas travel commitments), you can send someone to enrol
for you by proxy. Both you and your proxy need to complete
the Enrolment by
Proxy form
in advance (Adobe PDF format – 44kB). Your proxy can then bring it, plus any supporting
documentation and fees, and enrol on your behalf on enrolment
day.
To find out what other documentation you may be required
to bring on the enrolment day or further advice on enrolment
by proxy, contact the campus of enrolment before enrolling
by proxy.
